Charity concert in aid of displaced persons in Ukraine 'Prayer for Peace'
[Summary]
The charity concert was co-hosted by the Tokyo Opera Association. The Tokyo
Opera Association is based on the principle that human beings, regardless
of their nationality, social status or gender, are born free and should
be treated with dignity. We continue to work towards the realisation of
a society where individual lives regain their freedom and potential, and
where people can have hopes and dreams for the future.
Like all of you, I am deeply saddened by the situation in Ukraine, where the fighting has intensified and many Ukrainians have been forced to flee their country in fear and disappointment. In this context, we are carrying out support activities for those who have come to Japan as refugees, and although we are still in a state of exploration, through interviews with evacuees, we have been able to learn about the "psychological care" of the people who have been displaced, Through interviews with the evacuees, we are keenly aware that "psychological care" is extremely important. There is also a social problem in Japan, where people who have fled conflicts and human rights abuses from other countries in search of salvation have been treated coldly for many years.
We hope that by warmly welcoming the refugees from Ukraine, Japan will open up as a country where the dignity and security of refugees is protected, and become a society where they can live together, We hope that by warmly welcoming the refugees from Ukraine, Japan will open up as a country where the dignity and security of refugees are protected and a society where they can live together.
